Shipping policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026
This Shipping Policy is part of our Terms of Service. Please read it before you order, especially if you are buying firearms, ammunition, magazines, knives, or other regulated products.
Order Processing
- Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days after payment is confirmed and any required documents are approved. Most orders ship directly from our distributors' warehouses. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
- Orders for regulated items are not processed until we receive everything required, such as proof of age or identity, state-required permits or cards, or a copy of your receiving dealer's license.
- Processing may take longer during sales, holidays, product launches, and periods of high demand.
- Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Tracking may take up to 24–48 hours to show activity.
Shipping Methods, Rates, and Timeframes
- Shipping rates are calculated at checkout.
- Estimated transit time after shipment is 3–7 business days for most ground shipments within the contiguous United States. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees.
- We select the carrier and service for each shipment based on the item, destination, and carrier rules. Expedited shipping may not be available for some items, including ammunition and other hazardous materials.
Drop-Shipped Orders and Split Shipments
Many products are shipped directly from our distributors and manufacturers. As a result:
- Items in one order may ship separately, from different warehouses, on different dates, with separate tracking numbers. You will not be charged extra shipping because we split an order.
- If an item becomes backordered or unavailable, we will contact you to offer a wait time, an approved substitute, or a refund for that item.
Where We Ship
- We ship only within the United States. We do not ship internationally and do not ship to freight forwarders or export services.
- P.O. boxes: Ammunition, firearms, and regulated items cannot ship to P.O. boxes. Other items may ship to a P.O. box only if the carrier allows it.
- APO/FPO/DPO addresses: We do not ship ammunition, primers, powder, firearms, magazines, knives, or other regulated or hazardous items to military mail addresses. Other gear and accessories may ship to APO/FPO/DPO addresses only where the carrier allows it. If we cannot ship an item to your military address, we will cancel that item and refund you.
- Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories: Ammunition and other hazardous materials generally cannot move by air, and ground carrier service for them is typically limited to the contiguous 48 states. We do not ship ammunition, primers, powder, or other hazardous materials to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, or Palau. Other items may ship to these locations when carrier rules allow, and extra shipping charges and transit time may apply.
Firearms, Frames and Receivers, and NFA Items
- Firearms, frames, and receivers ship only to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder that you designate. We never ship them to a residence or to an unlicensed person.
- Short-barreled rifles and short-barreled shotguns are sold as regular firearms and ship only to a licensed dealer (FFL). Suppressors and any other weapons (AOWs) follow current ATF guidance, and listings are subject to availability. Machine guns and destructive devices remain regulated and are not sold to the public. Under ATF’s Open Letter and FAQs of October 9, 2026, ATF is not currently enforcing the National Firearms Act approval (Form 1 and Form 4), registration and tax-stamp requirements for short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, suppressors (silencers) and “any other weapons” (AOWs). Machine guns and destructive devices remain fully regulated under the NFA. This is an ATF enforcement position, not a repeal of the law, and it may change. All firearms still require a transfer through a licensed dealer (FFL) with ATF Form 4473 and a NICS background check, and state and local laws still apply (some states prohibit or restrict these items). This is general information, not legal advice; please consult a qualified attorney about your situation.
- You are responsible for choosing a dealer and confirming, before you order, that the dealer will accept the shipment and can lawfully transfer the item to you. Handguns must be transferred by a dealer in your state of residence.
- We or our distributor must have a valid copy of your dealer's license on file before shipment. Orders may be held until we receive it.
- Your dealer's transfer fees and any state or local fees are paid by you directly to the dealer and are not refundable by us.
- Local pickup: If you choose pickup at our Spruce Pine, AL location, firearms are released only after you complete ATF Form 4473 and the required background check. See our Transfers page.
Adult Signature (21+)
Ammunition, firearms, and other regulated items may require an adult signature (21+) at delivery, depending on the product, carrier, and destination. A person 21 years of age or older may need to be present with valid government-issued photo ID to sign for the package. When a signature is required, the carrier will not leave the package unattended. If no eligible adult is available, the carrier may try again, hold the package for pickup, or return it to us. See "Refused, Undeliverable, and Returned Packages" below.
Firearms are signed for by your receiving dealer.
Carrier Rules
We follow the rules of the carriers we use and U.S. Department of Transportation hazardous-materials regulations. Among other rules:
- Ammunition ships by ground service only, packaged and marked as a "Limited Quantity" hazardous material (the marking that replaced the older ORM-D label). It cannot ship by air or overnight service, and cannot ship through the U.S. Postal Service.
- Primers, smokeless powder, and certain other items are hazardous materials and may be subject to special shipping methods, extra hazmat fees, and quantity limits.
- Handguns are not shipped through the U.S. Postal Service. Firearms ship by a carrier and service that the carrier permits for firearms, which may require overnight or express service for handguns and may require an adult signature.
- Carriers may refuse, delay, or return packages that do not meet their requirements. We are not responsible for delays caused by carrier rules.
Age Requirements
- Federal law generally prohibits licensed dealers from selling handgun ammunition to anyone under 21, and rifle or shotgun ammunition to anyone under 18.
- Our policy: you must be 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition, handguns, handgun frames and receivers, and handgun-related regulated items, and 18 or older to purchase rifle and shotgun ammunition, or older where state or local law requires. Ammunition that can be used in both handguns and long guns may be treated as handgun ammunition (21+).
- A carrier may require the person who signs for an ammunition delivery to be 21 or older, even when the buyer is 18 to 20 (see "Adult Signature (21+)" above).
- Some states set a minimum age of 21 for all ammunition, all firearm purchases, or certain accessories, and some require age verification at delivery. You must meet the highest age requirement that applies to you.
State and Local Restrictions
You are responsible for knowing and following all federal, state, and local laws that apply to the items you order and to your shipping address. Laws on ammunition, magazines, firearms, NFA items, knives, and defense products change often and vary by state, county, and city. Our listing of a product on the Site does not mean it is legal where you live.
We may cancel any order, or any part of an order, that is going to a restricted destination, or that we cannot confirm is lawful, and refund you for the canceled items. We may require copies of permits, licenses, or ID before shipping to certain states.
Restrictions and requirements that affect orders include, but are not limited to, the following. This list is a general summary for convenience. It is not complete and is not legal advice.
Ammunition
The ammunition restrictions below also apply to primers, powder, and other hazardous reloading components.
- California: We do not ship ammunition to California. A state excise tax applies to firearm and ammunition sales in California.
- New York: We do not ship ammunition to New York.
- New York City: We do not ship ammunition or magazines to New York City addresses.
- New Jersey: We do not ship ammunition to New Jersey.
- Massachusetts: We do not ship ammunition to Massachusetts.
- Connecticut: We do not ship ammunition to Connecticut.
- Illinois: We do not ship ammunition to Illinois. We do not ship ammunition or magazines to Chicago or Cook County.
- Washington, D.C.: Ammunition possession is generally limited to people with a valid D.C. firearm registration, and sales are generally made in person through a licensed dealer. We do not ship ammunition to Washington, D.C.
- Hawaii: State law sets a minimum age of 21 for ammunition and ties ammunition purchases to firearm registration. Ammunition also cannot move by air. We do not ship ammunition to Hawaii.
- Alaska and U.S. territories: Carrier limits on hazardous materials prevent standard shipping. We do not ship ammunition to Alaska or to any U.S. territory.
- Colorado: As of July 1, 2026, most retail ammunition delivered in Colorado must be signed for by a recipient who shows government-issued photo ID proving the recipient is at least 21, with limited exceptions under state law.
- Rhode Island: We do not ship ammunition to Rhode Island.
- Other ammunition types: Armor-piercing handgun ammunition is restricted under federal law, and some states and localities restrict tracer, incendiary, hollow-point, or other special-purpose ammunition.
Magazines
Many states and localities limit the capacity of magazines that may be sold, transferred, or possessed. We will not ship a magazine to a destination where its sale or possession is prohibited. Current limits include, but are not limited to:
- 10 rounds: California, Connecticut, Hawaii (handgun magazines), Maryland (sale and transfer), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington (sale and distribution), and Washington, D.C.
- Illinois: 15 rounds for handguns and 10 rounds for long guns. Cook County limits magazines to 10 rounds, and Chicago has its own limits.
- Vermont: 15 rounds for handguns and 10 rounds for long guns.
- Colorado: 15 rounds, with separate limits for shotguns.
- Delaware: 17 rounds.
- New York City: Magazines for rifles and shotguns are generally limited to 5 rounds, and additional permit requirements apply.
- Oregon: A voter-approved 10-round limit has been delayed by litigation and legislation and may take effect in the future.
- Virginia: A 15-round limit on new sales was enacted in 2026 and is currently blocked by a court order. Its status may change.
Several of these laws are being challenged in court, and their status may change quickly. We rely on your jurisdiction's current law at the time of shipment. Some jurisdictions also restrict magazine rebuild kits, extensions, and parts that could be assembled into a larger magazine.
Firearms, NFA items, and related parts
- Some states and localities prohibit or restrict specific firearms or features (for example, "assault weapon" laws), require handguns to appear on an approved roster (such as California and Massachusetts), require permits or licenses to purchase, or impose waiting periods. Your receiving dealer must confirm that the item can be lawfully transferred to you.
- Suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns are prohibited or restricted in a number of states. Confirm legality before ordering.
- Unfinished frames and receivers, and certain "precursor" parts, are restricted or must be transferred through a licensed dealer in some states, including California.
- Some parts and accessories, such as certain stocks, braces, grips, muzzle devices, threaded barrels, and trigger devices, are restricted in some jurisdictions or may change how a firearm is classified under state or federal law.
Knives, defense sprays, and electronic weapons
- Automatic and out-the-front knives: We do not ship automatic (switchblade) or out-the-front knives across state lines. These knives ship only to Alabama addresses or are available for pickup at our Spruce Pine, AL location, where lawful. Orders for these knives with a shipping address outside Alabama will be canceled and refunded.
- Pepper spray, other defense sprays, stun guns, and conducted-energy devices: Some states and localities restrict their sale, shipment, size, or strength. For example, New York has historically required in-person purchase of defense sprays from certain licensed sellers.
Address Accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. Ammunition ships only to a physical street address. We cannot ship ammunition to P.O. boxes. You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate address. If you need to correct an address, contact us immediately. We can change an address only if the order has not yet shipped. Firearms can ship only to the dealer address on the dealer's license, and we cannot redirect those shipments. If a package is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete address, you may be charged the original and return shipping costs, before the order is reshipped or refunded.
Refused, Undeliverable, and Returned Packages
If a package is refused, not signed for by an eligible adult after the carrier's delivery attempts, not picked up from a carrier facility, or returned as undeliverable:
- We will issue a refund for the merchandise after the package is returned to us or our distributor and inspected, minus the original shipping charges and the return shipping charges, where permitted by law.
- For ammunition, firearms, and other regulated or hazardous items, the refund is also reduced by any carrier hazmat return fees and a 15% restocking fee, where permitted by law.
- Ammunition and hazardous items that are returned may be subject to additional carrier hazmat return fees.
- For firearms that your dealer refuses or cannot transfer, see our Refund Policy.
Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages
- Damaged packages: If your package arrives visibly damaged, please note it with the carrier if possible and take photos. Report any damaged, defective, wrong, or missing items to us within 7 days of delivery, with your order number and clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label. Please keep all packaging until the claim is resolved.
- Lost packages: If tracking shows no movement for 7 business days, or your order has not arrived by the estimated date, contact us and we will open an investigation with the carrier.
- Packages marked delivered but not received: Check with neighbors and household members and look around the delivery location, then contact us within 5 days of the delivery scan. Because regulated items may require an adult signature (21+) at delivery, depending on the product, carrier, and destination, we will work with the carrier to review the signature and delivery record.
- Once a claim is confirmed, we will, at our option, send a replacement (if available) or issue a refund. We are not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after a confirmed delivery to the address you provided, except where required by law.
Taxes and Fees
Sales tax is calculated at checkout. Some states and localities impose special excise taxes or fees on firearms or ammunition (for example, California and Cook County, Illinois). These may be charged at checkout or by your receiving dealer or licensed vendor.
